Jesse Helms is Dead

Former North Carolina Senator Jesse Helms has died.  He was 86. 

 Former U.S. Sen. Jesse Helms, R-North Carolina, was hailed as a leader of the conservative movement.

Helms was one of the driving forces to the hard right conservative tilt of the Republican Party during the 1980s and 1990s.  I don’t miss him in the Senate, but prayers for his family.
