Still No Denial on Senator Ackermans Possible Run for Mayor of IrvineTwo things to report:

1.  Still no denial from Senator Ackerman’s office that he’ll run for Mayor of Irvine once termed out in Sacramento; I thought for sure after my Saturday post on the matter, he’d deny it to Matt Cunningham at Red County or Jon Fleischman at Flash Report.  Nothing at either site on that.

2.  My politico pals tell me once Matt Cunningham starts making fun of something along the lines of “that can’t possibly be true,” it probably is.  We should play poker sometime Matt. ;)

You’re friends are going too need a new riff, Dan.

I just talked to Dick. He’s not running for Mayor of Irvine, and Linda Ackerman isn’t running for Irvine Council.

I told you it was a crazy rumor.

I’ve yet to deny that I’m running for President.

It never made sense. I think Dick wouldn’t mind representing Irvine in the State legislature like fellow Fullerton expatriate Ross Johnson did. But neither one of these guys has the interest, desire or the necessary cultural attachment to run a retail politics campaign for local office there. The rumor was a little goofy.

But Linda Ackerman is the early front runner for the GOP Central Committee covering the Irvine so maybe Dan should continue to follow the trail.

I asked Linda the same question. She’s not running for council.

4 business days and no callbacks. Yep Ackerman has a crackerjack PR staff.

it appears that Mrs. Ackerman is the top votegetter in the 70th (so far) on the Rep Central Committee.
