The Secret Carona Tapes

In the midst of all the Hoa Van Tran drama, we’ve neglected to post this story about Mike Carona’s (excuse me, the disgraced and indicted on federal corruption charges former sheriff) secret taping system.

Since my Santa Ana office is across the street from the Spy Store on Main Street. I am especially intrigued by the device that prevents people from wearing a wire inside the Sheriff’s Office from recording audio tapes of what was said.  Perhaps I should buy one for myself!

How Nixonian!

Between the tapes already released and this little ditty, perhaps Mr. Carona would do the taxpyaers a service and take a plea bargain.  And if Mr. Carona does gamble with the justice system and gets convicted, no Camp Cupcakes.

I have to ask myself, Acting Sheriff Anderson said this was a system known by Carona insiders.  I can’t help but wonder if Mr. Fleischman was aware of this system?  If he didn’t know, does that mean he wasn’t as much of an insider as he’s led folks to believe. What did Jon know and when did he know it?

    Money quote:

I have known Mike Carona for nearly fifteen years. He and I first met when he was the Marshal of Orange County (in charge of security for our county courthouses) and I was a special assistant to freshman Congressman Ed Royce. Over the years, I have come to know Carona as a man of strong integrity with a commitment to freedom and liberty, and a passion for public policy administration.

Can I get this as an 8×10 and some wallet sized prints.

One should read the entire post Jonny wrote while pimping for Carona’s re-election.

A friend once told me the truly great comedy writes itself. The post I linked is living proof of that adage.

Who is the senior citizen in the picture with the little sheriff?

I believe that is Michelle Steele; a woman who would not be allowed to marry her husband 60 years ago if proponents of traditional marriage had their way.

The goal here is to post as many photos of prominent OC and California Republicans with Mike Carona as possible.
