I respectfully disagree on the matter of the website being printed incorrectly and referred to a porn website should be posted on this site. It is factual information, and I posted it in both cases. If this happened to Janet Nguyen, I would do the same.

On the matter of amended returns. Kinde Durkee is no longer affiliated with the campaign. The failure to report expenditures documented in the campaign check register is blatant disregard of the regulations. I’m tired of hearing “we wll file amended reports if any are needed” to be big fish that got away story told by my grandpa. I will believe it when I see it.

Somehow I suspect that if the roles were reversed and this had been done to Janet, Chris would not find this so “hilarious” and would without hesitation blame Edgardo and Hoa. Maybe poor Paul.

All of that being said, I have yet to hear a good reason why the Hoa campaign has not amended its campaign report. Sean is right, amendments are not unusual, but a)this is not rocket science and b) since Kindee Durkee is preparing the report and knowing how competent she is, I must assume that she is simply waiting on the Hoa campaign to get her the requested information. Every day there is a delay in getting the report amended it fuels suspicion that there is something to hide and they are trying to wait until after the June election to do the amendment.

There is another thing for the Hoa people to consider. There are Democrats who were not happy the Democratic Party endorsed Hoa. The refusal to date to amend the reports has been used by these individuals as a reason to revoke the DPOC’s endorsement. I understand that this is on the DPOC’s agenda for their meeting Monday night. I would also assume that the DPOC sent a timely written notice to Hoa that they were taking up a resolution to reconsider Hoa’s endorsement . A phone call in addition to the written notice would have been good form. I’m not sure in the many years I’ve followed the DPOC that failure to file amended reports has been a criteria used to support a withdrawl of a previous endorsement but there’s always a first. I suspect that the charge will be that an accurate amendement would reveal the source of some of the contributions was Van Tran or some fellow travelers. A withdrawl of the endorsement could be very embarassing for Hoa and might be the subject of a mailer sent to District Democrats. So rather than pull into the safe harbor of an amended report, Hoa seems hell bent in putting shells into the shotguns being brought Monday night.

No outrage from my side of the fence on this. I think it is freakin hillarious.

Just because Janet Nguyen’s campaign, to this point, has been able to spell its website address correctly, does not indicate that she or her supporters are behind anything.

I will say that I found the men on the sight linked by Hoa’s incorrect domain, far more attractive (thanks for the tip Edgardo). Though personally, if I had control of the domain I would have linked it to either an OC Gang Task Force website or maybe an FPPC complaint form.

However the linking of the misspelled web sites to gay porno sites was obviously done by somebody outside of their campaigns. The fact that it has happened to both opponents of Janet Nguyen leads me to believe that perhaps her folks may be involved.

The fact that they linked them to gay porno sites is likely an act of homophobia by the party involved. I am shocked that Chris Prevatt isn’t angry that somebody is using homophobic tactics to smear political opponents.
