Someone once asked, "If it doesn't bother Sal, why should it bother you?"

I think the point is not whether something *bothers* anyone. It appears that somebody took advantage of Sal Tinajero's good nature. So the point is not that it *bothers* anyone, but that somebody (Reynoso? Hoa Tran?) has a tendency to abuse other people's goodness.

UPDATE: I did receive a response from Sal Tinajero. He confirmed that he had not been asked in advance of the printing of the mailer or at the time the photo was taken for permission to use the photo in a mailer. Sal added though; "At the end of the day I didn't mind because he is the only Dem in the field."

If anyone hasn't already noticed, Sal is the class act in this situation. Thanks Sal.

Very nice job on verification, Chris.

The whole thing about asking permission to use Sal's photo in a mailer, when Sal has not endorsed, at ringside of an outdoor boxing match, wouldn't pass anyone's smell test. But actual verification is always very nice!

Dear Fishy:

I am a gay man. I am not in bed with Dina, I believe she is really a woman. I have not become a shill for Janet.

I said this in a comment on April 30th...

I have no problem criticizing a Democrat for filing reports that are on their face obviously false. If his campaign cannot file finance reports accurately, why should we trust him with a $5 billion budget. Dina Nguyen cannot even figure out how to file a statement of intent before she raises money, and Janet Nguyen cannot bring herself to report contributors to her legal defense fund (which wasn’t legal); cannot live within her district office budget paying for extra staff with funds from the Health Care Agency while cutting agency services; has the public pay for a “outreach” office in Little Saigon; redecorates her district office because “everyone else was doing it;” I could go on but I think you get the point.

Hell, they’re all flawed. Damn right I pleaded publicly for an elected democrat to challenge Janet Nguyen. And please, do not even go down the road of invoking Paul Lucas’ trojan horse campaign for Supervisor. The fingerprints of Van Tran and Mike Schroeder are all over this race, and Paul. This is a contest between Van Tran and Janet Nguyen, all other players are simply pawns in their feud.

The only losers in this race are the people of the First District who will have to suffer with four more years of Linclon Club and Republican control of a Supervisor’s seat that could have been a voice for the working people in Orange County.

Prevatt,
Are you sure you are not in bed with Dina Nguyen? It sure sounds like you have suddenly become a shill for janet.
