What Do YOU Think About John McCain Coming to OC?

So have you heard the big news? John McCain is coming to town tomorrow. To be a little more specific, he’ll be at The Island Hotel in Newport for a big bucks fundraiser.

But wait, will McCain have a chance to get beyond the big bucks GOP donors to hear about what working people here in OC actually want in their next President? And will he be saying anything about what needs to be done to solve the mortgage crisis crippling our local economy? Or about when he’ll ever be convinced to start bringing our troops home from Iraq? Or about what can be done to ensure that everyone has quality, affordable health care?

So what do you think about likely Republican Presidential Nominee John McCain coming to town tomorrow? Is there any concern you’d like to hear from him tomorrow before doors close to his private fundraiser? What national issues affecting OC do you think McCain should talk about?

I want to hear what you have to say about McCain paying us (or at least, those of us who can afford to get in The Island) a visit tomorrow. What would you like to hear from him? Go ahead and have your say.

I want to knolw if McCain has figured out the difference between the Sunni and the Shi’a yet.

Will Joe Liebermann be there to whisper in McCain’s ear?

I’m sort of hoping he’ll bring Chris Cox along to explain how the SEC has been asleep while the securities business has morphed into a few trillion worth of bad debt. And how the SEC won’t back a bailout for the big guys. Where are the true capitalists when you need them to explain how the risk-takers should bear the burden when they take stupid risks?.

A question or two about having exceeded the public finances campaign limit (re firedoglake’s questions on 3/23) could also be tossed in there…

    Dan & peanutbutter-

Good questions. How the heck will “Grandpa Mac” keep us safe if he can’t even tell us what the real threats to our security are? Oh yes, and how committed is he to public financing? Enough to play by the rules?

Hmmm, interesting! How about Mike the Huckster? Between McCain’s “Bomb, Bomb, Iran” medleys & Huckabee’s rejection of all things logical, I think we’ll get double the “fun” from double the crazy. hehe 😉

There’s been a lot of speculation lately on some of the more bizarre blogs and internet sites about Barack Obama’s ties to the Muslim world. Some people seem to think a plot is under way. In an article today in the Orange County Register, someone was quoted saying “Obama has strong Kenyan connections to radical Islam. What better way to take over our country than to have one at the top post of our country?”

What better way, indeed? But now it can be revealed that a second, far more insidious plot to take over our country has been discovered, based on extensive evidence gathered over the past 41 years.

Yes, John McCain is the secret agent of a takeover plot concocted by the only foreign power that ever defeated the U.S. in battle: the Viet Cong.

Ask yourselves: if you were a Viet Cong strategist and you knew through reading the New York Times in 1967 that an admiral’s son was flying over Hanoi every few days—wouldn’t you try to shoot him down? Wouldn’t you want him to become a hero and go back to America?

Ask yourselves: did Barack Obama ever live in Kenya for six years, eating the food and learning the native culture?

And how clever this plot really is. The deft touches—having your candidate hug—really, truly, embrace George W. Bush, as recorded in a picture we are likely to see ten thousand times in the next few months. Calling leaders of the Republican religious right “agents of intolerance.” True genius, trying to throw people off the trail. And why is John McCain really coming to Orange County?

Of course John McCain is an authentic American hero—that’s the deepest genius of the Viet Cong plot. They lie quietly in the weeds for decades and then they spring this plot on the rest of us, unsuspecting.

Be watchful, America. Be very, very watchful.

[for the literal minded, this is a fantasy, designed to help the unthinking to think again. I think John McCain is an honorable man—and so is Barack Obama.]

    Secret agent man-

Wow. I’m left speechless. Now I’m no fan of McCain, but I never suspected him of being part of a secret Vietcong effort to conquer America. And if McCain’s part of this secret Vietcong effort to conquer America & Obama’s secretly tied to Kenyan Islamist extremists, then what does that make Hillary Clinton? A Christianist extremist because she’s part of a prayer group in Washington? Or part of a secret Chinese effort to control America because she attended the UN’s Conference on Women’s Rights in Beijing in 1995?

But hey, thanks for tonight’s conspiracy corner. 😉
