Greg Haidl Gets Out of Jail

Greg Haidl is no longer behind bars.  This story in the OC Register details the terms of his early release from jail.

So he now needs to Register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.  Lock up your liquor cabinets and hide your daughters.

When Rep. Todd Spitzer refers to Liberals as “pro-criminal,” I think back to the great series of stories in the OC Weekly that details the favorable treatment this kid got from the Sheriff’s Department.

So. Believe it or not, I am against the sex offender registery once the registrant is released from parole/probation – hate on me if you like.

That being said, Greg-Jackass-Haidl challenges my moral center enough to temporairly suspend my liberal ideals on the matter. I hope the humilation and shame haunts him for the rest of his life.

    Jon,

I agree. I like this line from Seven Years in Tibet.

Your shame will be your torture, and your torture will be your life. I wish it long.

Yeah, don’t forget the girl who showed up there the night before had sex with 2 of them infront of everyone, and then decided to go back the very next night for 2nd’s BY HERSELF!?!?!

Was it wrong? Sure, did she ask for it, of course she did. She was partying with 3 teenage kids while knowing deep down inside “im gonna have sex with these guys”, just like she did the night before.

Put it this way….If the tape was never found, she would’ve probably bragged about what she did,(minus maybe the pool q deal), but b/c the tape was found, now she got rapped. Whatever…

They (boys) did their time, don’t tell me they got treated like 3 rich teenage boys from Orange County while in State prison. They got more then what they deserve. They were teengage kids having sex w/ a girl. Having no morals doesn’t always = prison time.

Not to rehash the trial here, if she went back for seconds, why the need to get her so blotto that the people who found the tape thought she was dead. They treated this girl like a piece of meat. The deserved what they got. And I don’t want Greg or his buddies anywhere near my daughter.

    Jimbo,

I would agree with had she been conscious and agreed to all the things they di to her. But she wasn’t conscious and not capable of consent. The boys got caught due to their own arrogance. And justice was served.

Payback is really A BITCH!… Even though these 3 got what they deserved, it’s not enough, but I guess that they have the rest of their lives to think about it, ’cause they will NOT be able to live like everybody else!… That is THEIR “Scarlet Letter”!…

I wish I felt sorry for “Jane Doe”. But I can’t. I honestly do not believe that she was raped. I find the boys’ behavior depraved, but not criminal. Apparently, she wasn’t “raped” until the cops informed her parents. Sounds like a bad case of buyer’s remorse to me. It must be easier to convince yourself that you’re a victim than to admit that you’re a drunk who has low self-esteem and poor decision making abilities.

All this does is undermine the credibility of real rape victims.

This idiot would’ve been served to face her shortcomings, check into rehab, and get serious therapy to deal with her issues. Instead, she does meth and gets and undisclosed sum of money in settlement of her CIVIL SUIT against the defendants’ parents, etc. etc.

No wonder she won’t show her face in public.

For the record, I am a woman and a mother, and a social worker.

“smarter than you.” Right. Only if “you” refers to some lower primate.

You make it sound as though this is some sort of date rape case, and if it were I might agree with you. But it absolutely isn’t.

Take a peek at the OC Weekly’s article describing the video of the rape. The boys not only gang-raped every orifice of an unconscious female, they also penetrated her with bottles, soda cans, pool cues, and cigarettes.

“Not criminal,” you say? I’d say the only person more depraved than those boys is YOU.

Its pretty obvious that all those accusing the three now young men of being rapists are confused about whether or not a crime occured or just a lapse in both “Jane Doe” and the boys’ judgement. What young girl would admit to such a decision when being confronted by her parents. No way I would EVER want my parents to discover me in such an act. Nevertheless, I cannot deny that I have done things considered immoral. Its something we all do. Maybe had everyone not treated her as if making a concious decision like that made her a “whore” or terrible person, she would have had the strength to be truthful. We all make mistakes sometimes- you don’t have to agree with certain choices but at least respect that they are person choices and there is always room for morals and people to change. Unfortunately now we have three young men forever wrongly demised and a young female in such a state of denial, she may never learn the value of her own independence and allowance to make her own decisions. She must continue indefinately to keep up appearances–no room for mistakes.
