Pedroza to challenge Bustamante in Santa Ana Ward 3

Pedroza Joins Space Race to Challenge Bustamante

Art 'Buzz Lightyear' PedrozaAfter years of blogging about rising Republican rock star Santa Ana Ward 3 Councilmember CarlosËœSpace Commander” Bustamante, and failing to draft anyone to run, including former State Senator Joe Dunn; Art Pedroza has decided to put on his own tin-foil space suit, climb in his space ship and launch his own campaign to unseat the Councilman.

“I was initially reluctant to run because I felt it might curb my ability to blog,” Pedroza said as he shoved his right leg into his space suit. “But, according to my pajaritos, the fact that I am personally responsible for getting both Councilwoman Martinez and Supervisor Nguyen elected to their offices, assures the same success for my own campaign,” he smiled. “So today I announce my Buzz Lightyear Campaign for City Council. To insanity and beyond;” Pedroza exclaimed, or was it infinity and beyond?

When asked his thoughts on Pedroza entering the race, Santa Ana activist and current LiberalOC contributor Sean Mill said; “While I really don’t like Carlos Bustamante on the Council, I worked with Pedroza for a while on the Orange Juice blog and I’m not sure he’s is the right person for the job.” Mill paused for a moment then laughed; “I think someone told Pedroza to crap or get off the pot, and he decided to take a dump.”

Pedroza feels that his populist message will resonate with the people of Santa Ana. He plans to base his campaign upon his rage against the Pulidio machine, of which he sees Bustamante as being part of. Speaking to his three assembled supporters Pedroza proclaimed; “If you really want to elect true progressives, help me get rid of Miguel Pulido and his crooked Council cabal. Together we can start by taking out the Space Commander.”

Although Carlos Bustamante is still recovering from the failure of his campaign for Supervisor in 2007, if Pedroza is his only challenger it is anticipated that he really isn’t going to need much money to defeat Pedroza.

A poll commissioned by the Pulido cabal indicates that while most Santa Ana voters think Carlos Bustamante is a joke, they feel by a 2 to 1 margin that Pedroza should go back to writing a blog that no one takes seriously anymore.

    Paul,

It’s a spoof my friend. Rest assured if I am going to run I will be sure to break the news on the Orange Juice – not here at the Liberal OC…

Chris – nice Photoshop! You are a lot better at that than I am.

P.S. When are you guys going to start going after Carlos Bustamante? He is the only Republican left on the Santa Ana City Council. Why not target him instead of going after Supervisor Janet Nguyen, who is assured victory now that Joe Dunn has thrown in the towel?

    Chris,

“Pedroza should go back to writing a blog that no one takes seriously anymore.” Oh, I don’t know about that. The Register and the L.A. Times, as well as the O.C. Weekly (which named the Orange Juice the Best Local Orange County Blog) seem to take me seriously. Did you read the Register’s editorial today where they quoted me and where they announced they are opposing Measure D?

Both the OC Young Democrats AND the OC Young Republicans are opposed to Measure D! Vote No on Measure D!

    Glad you liked it Art.

Things have been getting way too serious lately. I figured I should have some fun.

Come on Art. It was a poll put out by the Pulido cabal. Do you really expect that they would say that people take you or you blog seriously. ;)

I’m surprised they didn’t say that people did not know who you were and didn’t care. That’s what the Pulido Machine does. Stuff gets put in a machine and spun out.

    To insanity and beyond!

This post just shows that it is a joke to think that those who oppose are going to be able to unseat Space Commander Bustamante.

All of this chatter about how bad he is and yet nobody will step up and bring this disgrace down.

    Art,

I go after Carlos on a regular basis. Are you so blind with your obsessive love for Michele that you can’t see what has been written about Carlos over here? You really need to stop with the spin and lies.
