Governor signs bill to prevent party-switching

Many of you remember a while back when folks paid by Republican Party were found to have switched voters’ party affiliation without their consent. This led to re-evaluation of a “bounty” program for voter registrations. Nearly 300 voters in Orange County became Republicans without their knowledge or consent. Yesterday, the Governator signed a AB 452 by Assemblyman Juan Arambula that requires county registrars to more clearly inform voters when their party affiliation is changed. This is a step in the right direction to prevent voter fraud.

    The good news is that Correa’s “If you can’t beat them, outlaw them” senate bill was DOA.

    I thought it was ” If you can’t beat them, require photo id’s”?

    Still waiting to hear a good argument as to why we shouldn’t require a photo id when someone votes. Please enlighten me, or try to.
