I just noticed Claudio posted a new development in the ongoing scandal that is UCI’s firing of Erwin Chemerinsky as its new Law School Dean at Orange Juice. Apparently, the good ol’ boys in the OC GOP Machine (you know, Schroeder, et al) blackballed Chemerinisky, the respected law professor who even had conservative support for his new position at UCI. Oh wait, and it gets worse. LA County Supervisor Mike Antonovich joined in this despicable action.
OK, it’s bad enough that Antonovich aided and abetted in the squashing of free thought and diversity of opinion at UCI. But to make things worse, he has NO jurisdiction over UCI as an LA County Supervisor!
If you have any time today to make your voice heard about this terrible injustice, please contact Supervisor Antonovich.

Go ahead and ask LA County Supervisor Antonovich how he found time to aid in squelching academic freedom, and when LA County suddenly solved all its education problems. Ask why he hasn’t done anything to fix King-Drew Medical Center, but how he found time to meddle in UCI’s internal affairs. Ask why he hasn’t addressed all the growing pains in Antelope Valley, but how he was able to conspire with a few big shot Republicans in OC to mess with UCI’s law school. How pathetic that Antonovich’s constituents can’t count on him to address their concerns in LA County, but they can count on him to pull crap like this. Sad.
