OK, not quite yet… But I will be soon! I’m at John Wayne right now, waiting for my flight to our fine state’s capital. Once I arrive, I’ll be lobbying for more affordable and accessible health care all day. I know, I know, you can thank me later.
No really, I’ll be asking Senator Lou Correa and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger what they intend to do to live up to the promise they (as well as all the other legislators with consciences) made when “The Year of Health Care Reform” began. We’re already over halfway done with 2007, and we still don’t know if anything will be passed this year. What gives?
Many of my friends must worry about their monthly HMO premiums. My dad must worry about all the paperwork he must fill out, just to see his podiatrist. My best friend must worry about his hospital bill. My cousin must worry about her childrens’ care. What gives?
This is why I’m now in line to board a flight to Sacramento this morning. The first boarding call has just been made. Probably within 2 hours, I’ll start talking health care reform. Wish me luck!
(Btw, I’ll update you all on what’s happening throughout the day… So you won’t be completely without me!)
