Moorlach & Street, Stickin’ Together…

Many kudos to Total Buzz for this pretty picture of John Moorlach and Chriss Street! Oh yes, and more kudos to them for this. Check out what Chriss Street has been buying for his office using our tax dollars. All in all, Street has so far spent a grand total of $950,754 of OUR TAX DOLLARS on luxurious furniture for his office. And believe it or not, officials in the Treasurer’s Department expect this price tag to rise above $1,000,000!

So ladies and gentlemen, this is how the person collecting our taxes is spending them. So why hasn’t “taxpayer hero” John Moorlach come to save the day? Why hasn’t he called on Street to resign after hearing of this gross misuse of public funds, as well as the the FBI investigation into Street’s mismanagement of a bankrupt trucking company whose assets he may have misused for such “necessities” as a family vacation, gym memberships, and Botox injections? Why hasn’t Moorlach taken on Street in the same manner that he’s challenging our law enforcement officers over their retirement benefits?

Moorlach claims that the current retirement benefits for our hardworking deputy sheriffs are somehow a “gift of public funds” that must be stopped. He’s so outraged over our law enforcement officers getting a nest egg to retire on, but where’s the outrage over really disgusting “gifts of public funds” like the lavish remodeling of Chriss Street’s office? Oh, is that possibly because Moorlach himself also partook in “Extreme Makeover: OC Government Edition“? And may Moorlach be overlooking Street’s sins because the two have such a long history of sticking together?

Well, I guess it’s nice to see such a strong bond of friendship between Moorlach and Street continue to grow. Yes, it continues to grow… Kinda like that final bill for all that “remodeling” in Street’s office! How precious. 😉

Street spends as much on his office remodel as all five supervisors combined. The silence coming out of the conservative noise machine is deafening.

Instead, Jubal takes a pot shot at Art Brown’s expense report.

I’ll trade those thousands for a boondoggle over Street’s $1M+ any day.

Maybe that apologist Jubal will blame this on county procurement policies like he did before.

Right on! Figures that the Red County critters would scream at the speck in Art Brown’s eye while IGNORING THE LOG in Moorlach’s eye. Well, since Moorlach’s a good little Lincoln Clubber and Brown’s not, I guess that’s how they do it at the OC Blog, biotch. 😉

    pee-wee league-

    You’re probably right. Figures.

So explain this. Moorlach accepts the max donation to his Board of Supervisors campaign from Streets wife. Then Moorlach opens up the Assistant Treasurer position up for one day. An applicant named Street happens to make this narrow window and applies for the Assistant job. Moorlach hires him on this sham application process. Street runs for Treasurer/Tax Collector and can now use the title of Assistant Treasurer/Tax Collector on the ballot. Both Moorlach and Street win their respective bids for BOS and TTC. Moorlach comes into office and says the county is in dire straits and the Sheriffs, a group who wouldnt endorse him partly because of Streets shadyness, get too much in benefits. At the same time of the supposed dire financial straights of the county and the Sheriffs not having a contract or pay raise for a long time, Moorlach and Street spend hundreds of thousands of dollars for new lavish office chairs, tables, desks, flat screen tvs etc etc. When they are called on the carpet for this waste of taxpayer dollars both Moorlach and Street stand by their spending of taxpayer dollars. Now Street is under federal investigation for apparent stealing of money but Moorlach is apparently okay with that as well. Does anyone see Moorlachs hypocracy yet? Does anyone see that Moorlach has an agenda that he will follow despite it wasting the taxpayer dollars and bringing embarrassment and scandal to this county.

It should be fun to see how long Moorlach wear that anchor. Cutting Street loose will be a turning point in Moorlach’s career.

But will it be ENOUGH to save Moorlach? After all, we can all see how close he’s been with Street, all the way ’til today. So does he just think we’ll all conveniently forget the cozy relationship between these two? My goodness, Moorlach is betting a lot on presuming that we’re too stupid to notice!
