Should lawmakers obey the law?

June 5, 2007
By

County Supervisor Janet Nguyen was soliciting money to cover her legal costs after the February 6th special. The problem was that Nguyen was accepting donations above the campaign contribution limit—which is a violation of campaign finance law.

Janet says that she has returned the money to the contributors, but the County codes requires her to also file paperwork within seven days to the county Registrar of Voters documenting how much money was returned and the names of the contributors.

Martin Wisckol said this at Total Buzz:

It’s now been more than two months since the money was allegedly returned. Each day I grow increasingly curious about who those generous donors were and just how much they tried to give Nguyen. Is there some reason she doesn’t want the public to know who they are?

Everyone is blogging about the money, and it looks like nobody is going to be forgetting this story any time soon. How long will we wait, Janet?

A reminder gentle reader, Janet is a conservative Republican and while not an official member of the OC conservative Republican establishment, this sort of thing is par for the course.

Janet is not a conservative republican. Her enemies, who are republicans are bashing her for her moderate views. She is actually a RINO. REPUBLICAN IN NAME ONLY. Marc Wiscol, on the other hand works for the OC Register, AKA the OC republicanster. Dont listen to his lies and please dont post him on this website. Keep this web site clean and away from political spinsters like Wiscol.

Have you read a lot of Martin’s stuff? He’s a pretty fair guy. Are you suggesting that Janet doesn’t need to reveal the three contributors and she is exempt from the TIN CUP provision?

This isn’t partisan…this is simply asking a lawmaker to follow the law.

I agree with Tuang as far as Janet being a Rino.

    Way off on Martin though.
