Correa: ‘You’re not welcome here’

April 19, 2007
By Mike Lawson

Bravo to State Senator Lou Correa for standing up for his constituency.  From the Orange County Register’s Brian Joseph:

Orange County Sens. Lou Correa and Tom Harman ignited fireworks in Senate chambers this morning when they objected to the introduction of a delegation from the Vietnamese government.

Senator Leland Yee from San Francisco/San Mateo, who brought the delegation, said that they were here to learn about democracy.  Those words are easier to defend in San Francisco/San Mateo where you don’t need to depend on the Vietnamese refugee’s vote to get re-elected.

Bravo for Lou! I’m proud that my State Senator is standing up for the Vietnamese dissidents who are STILL OPPRESSED by their government. Now if their government refuses to respect any democratic ideals at home, then why should we give them any respect here?

The only problem I have with this is that our country has NO problem selling out to the equally communist China. Quite frankly I think we ought to open up trade with all the commies, including Cuba, and show them what the free market is all about.
