The Majority Report

Finally, something useful gleened off of the Flash Report.

Of the 22 million registered voters in California, here’s the breakdown by party, courtesy of the secretary of state’s office:

Democratic – 6,667,437 or 42.52%

Republican – 5,362,473 or 34.19%

American Independent – 313,461 or 2%

Green – 138,861 or 0.89%

Libertarian – 83,420 or 0.53%

Peace and Freedom – 58,264 or 0.37%

Decline to State – 2,953,414 or 18.83%

Others – 105,028 or 0.67%

I have a number of conservate pals who love to send me a county-by-county red vs blue breakdown on voter registration which shows California as a pretty red state.  I have to remind them that people vote, square miles don’t.

It was recently brought ot my attention that OC is tied for second as the area with the largest concentration of Democrats in the state; we’re tied with San Diego.  Make it your personal pledge to register 5 new Democrats this year.

Dan. I tell my conservative friends roughly the same thing. Those maps will be significant when dirt votes. Until then it is indicative of a shrinking group seeing its influence slowly slipping away.
