Mitt Romney: Flip-Flopper

March 1, 2007
By

The Flash Report has some hit pieces on John McCain and Rudy Guiliani to prove that both these guys aren’t conservative enough.  Jon Fleischman openly asked when he gets a hit piece on Mitt Romney, a darling of OC Republicans.

Here’s a YouTube debate of Mitt’s unsuccessful 1994 run against Ted Kennedy (Ted kicked his butt in a double-digit win).

I was living in Boston at the time and watched this debate live.  I remember thinking “and this guy is a Republican.”
I am so sure my conservative friends will cringe when Mr. Romney asserts his independence of “Reagan-Bush” and how he doesn’t want to return to the days of “Reagan-Bush.”  Think this is isolated?  Here’s a 2002 debate on “Meet the Press”

Prepare for more teeth-gnashing…..

you gotta love the pain that the Republicans are feeling now. They’ve got Romney whose flip flop makes John Kerry look like a straight shooter. Then there’s the frontrunner, Giuliani, who pretty much is the operational definition of RINO given his liberal social policies. And they can’t seem to stomach John McCain–too independent and didn’t sip the tax break for the wealthy kool aid. This on top of losing all those cushy committee and subcommittee chairmanships in D.C.

    What’s a Red to do?

I heard today that Carlos Bustamante is serving as some kind of OC Honorary Chair for the Romney campaign. His right wing nut supporters will love that! I can just see Rosie Avila gnashing her teeth, “But he’s a Mormon!” LOL
